Have a Chat Run Logo

3,249 people lost their life by suicide in 2022.

Starting 11 July 2024, Jason is running 3,249km over 100 days for those that have lost their lives, for those that loved them and for those currently in the fight - to give them hope and empower them to keep going. Jason’s goal is to encourage people to have a chat; no one has to do this alone.

Funds raised from the 'Have a Chat - Run with Jason' initiative will be used to fund the important work undertaken by Bettermentall, and also shared with our charity partner, Christmas on the Streets.

What people say about Jason's presentations

"Thank you Jason for having the courage to share your story in order to help others learn & grow. You are a fantastic presenter, constantly engaging your audience and passing on your knowledge with passion. Congratulations on taking those original first steps & each & every day that you continue to do so. You have found your true calling!"

Jason is an incredibly engaging presenter. He's just so approachable and easy to talk to and has so much interesting insight and experience to share. He really put me at ease to ask questions and was really encouraging. The sessions flew by so fast.

Super awesome energy. Really grateful to have had this opportunity. I loved Jason's openness to share his own journey, and help us understand the greater implications in living with mental illness. He made it a safe environment for us to ask questions, and share our own stories. I truly got a lot out of it.

Where will Jason run?

Weekday runs can be booked within a 90-minute driving radius of Trafalgar, Victoria. Jason is available to travel further on weekends, exploring locations across Victoria and even beyond. When significant travel is involved, Jason prefers to group multiple events over consecutive days for efficiency and enjoyment. Jason welcomes support to encourage other businesses and organisations in your area, especially if you are outside of central, southern, and west Gippsland, to come together and create a series of runs.

Can anyone run with jason?

Everyone is welcome to run, walk or cycle alongside Jason during the Have a Chat Run. There is no formal registration, just come along and join in!

How can we fundraise your speaking fee?

Bettermentall can assist your community organisation in brainstorming fundraising ideas to cover Jason's speaking fee. We're skilled at finding creative solutions tailored to your needs. Let's work together and spread the ‘Have a Chat’ message far and wide.

Can shirt sponsors choose their run day?

We appreciate your consideration of sponsoring a run leg—your support means a lot to us! While we welcome requests for logo placement on specific days, we cannot guarantee fulfilment. Please note that organisations booking speaking events with us will receive priority in logo placement.

I would like to encourage my organisation to be involved, do you have a flyer?

Thank you for advocating for our event. We have included some downloadable resources below:
